Coronavirus (COVID-19)
On May 11, 2023, the Centers for Disease Control marked the end of the federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration. To continue to help the university community stay safe and healthy, the Alvernia University Pandemic Response Team has put together a list of helpful FAQs.
- What are the updated isolation and exposure guidelines?
Alvernia University asks that all community members continue to follow CDC respiratory virus guidance which includes staying home (or in your room) and away from others until you are fever free without medication and your symptoms are improving for at least 24 hours. In addition, when you return to the community, please make efforts to prevent spread.
- What is the university masking policy?
Alvernia is a mask-friendly campus. Masks are optional in indoor locations on campus, including on-campus shuttles. Students are only required to wear masks in the Medical and Counseling Center when sick.
- How do I keep myself and others safe from COVID-19 and other respiratory infections?
To keep yourself and others safe from COVID-19 and other respiratory infections, clean your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
